Prior to his PT examination, he was referred to an orthopaedic surgeon and after suitable examination; he is referred to PT for conservative management. During the period of PT evaluation different kinds of other complications were found based on which suitable diagnosis, prognosis, and interventions were carried out. One month prior to the PT examination, he was noted with a sharp right upper buttock pain followed by 1) right testicular pain and 2) posterior leg paresthesias. It was noted that his symptoms worsened, and he was further provided treatment by using non-steroidal inflammatory medicines and was then given reference for an orthopedic surgeon for the low back and buttock symptoms. With various kinds of medical diagnosis, he was further referred to PT for conservative management because of his continuing back and right lower extremity symptoms. During the time of evaluation associated with the PT, the patient was not being able to seat properly and was also not being able to run. He was also facing intense pain and the testicular symptoms with a provocation of active, sharp movements into extension. After suitable determination, the patient was given appropriate conservative management, which falls under the diagnosis portion. During the diagnosis period, he was treated 12 times by physi cal therapist for three months with the main objective for minimizing the limits on the spinal cord and hip flexibility. During the fourth visit, it specifically involved thoracolumbar junction and stretching of hip, which in turn reduced the buttock pain and the testicular pain of the patient. Mobilization included grade IV central and right unilateral that dealt with movements of the T-10 to L2 vertebrae along the anterior-posterior direction with adequate repetitions. The diagnosis also included stretching of the psoas muscle by holding the patient in the horizontal position that provided pelvic stability. During the remaining eight visits, the treatment involved identifying the restrictions and the primary focus was on addressing the succeeding trunk and the lower margin strength. Using a suitable Stabilizer pressure device, reduction of the neuromascular pain for the lower abdominal muscles was also implemented. The program of trunk reduction included exercises for strengthenin g the physical activities of the patient. When improvement was seen in the pelvic position, strengthening of the trunk musculature that included the neutral spine position was also introduced that emphasized further strengthening. Thus, various kinds of balanced movements were performed by applying a medium density foam mat. Somatic pain refers to the pain of the musculoskeletal system (Labus et al., 2016). Since, most of the nerve is associated with the supply of impulse to different kind of muscles, bones and other related tissues of the body it is much easier to locate the somatic pain than the visceral pain. The degree of somatic pain is also intense. The physical pain condition that arises because of the somatic pain specifically includes chronic back pain, pelvic pain, pelvic joint instability (Wegner et al., 2013). Somatic pains can be either deep or superficial that particularly arises from various kinds of nociceptive receptors that remain present in the skin, membranes and different joints of the body. Visceral pain refers to the internal pain. It particularly refers to the pain that comes from blood vessels and the various organs associated with the body (Wegner et al., 2013). My personal values had an impact on the decision I could have made. I value life, and it would be contrary to my personal beliefs to let such a client commit suicide. As a social worker, I should strive to enhance the well being of clients, help people to meet their basic needs. How the arts relate Essay The arts are inter-related because they rely and complement one another. It will be absurd for any of the arts to stand alone. They are all inextricably linked- for example, can anyone dance without music? The simple answer to this is â€Å"no. † Music gives direction to dance. In other words, music inspires the movement involved in dance. The dance steps are in line with the rhythm of the music. Dance is performed in theatres before live audiences or recorded on film so that the people who are not present can view the performance later. Theatre is a special face to face type of communication with a limited audience. However, when productions in the theatre are placed on film, the audience is broadened. Relationship between dance and music Dance involves a lot of body movement. Much of this body movement in dance involves the use of various parts of the human body. These various body movements need to be properly done in order to have an effect on a theatrical audience. Highlights this point when they write that, The dramatic effectiveness of a dance, however, invariably depends on myriad factors-movement dynamics of body parts and torso, movement in space, location on stage, direction of focus, use of weight, muscle tension, and so on (2). Toward this end Susan Sontag embarked on the task of unearthing the relationship between theatre and film. In a bid to accomplish this task, she raised questions which were meant to challenge, unbridgeable division, even opposition between the two arts (249). However, it is important to note that Susan Sontag was limited by the realities that were present when she undertook the study. A lot has changed since then. Agreed, theatre and film have a lot of similarities and differences but they often go together in many ways. For example, in marketing of artistic productions, theatre box office sales are an important source of revenue. Apart from this source, sales of recorded copies of the production too bring in a lot of money. This analogy raises the question whether there can be a struggle between theatres and film for audiences? In truth there can be a struggle especially when managers and producers do not manage the two effectively. Usually, in marketing, theatre and film complement each other. In theatre, the performance is live, thus there is an intimacy between the performance and the audience. However, in film, the performance is recorded, thus there is no direct connection with the audience. With film, producers are able to include certain effects which may not be possible on a theatrical stage. While live performance in theatres has its advantages, recorded performances too are beneficial in various ways. In this way both theatre and film are complementary. An individual’s knowledge about cats may come from many different places. The basics for someone’s knowledge about cats may have started when they were a child. If they had a bad experience with a cat then they might claim to â€Å"know† that all cats are mean. This could make them believe that cats are mean even though they only had one experience. If they had a cat of their own and loved it very much then they might claim to â€Å"know† that cats are lovable creatures. Another example of us constructing our knowledge of cats is by how we choose our religion. If I decide to worship cats then to me I â€Å"know† that cats are holy. This also brings up the debate that religion is not only a personal choice but also a type of definition. If my religion tells me that cats are holy then that is acquired knowledge and then I am simply recognizing it to be knowledge. Other definitions about cats are scientific experiments that people on them. If cats are proven to have a certain disease then people could say the cats carry disease and be making a valid knowledge claim. This shows that knowledge about cats is neither totally constructed by us nor completely acquired. You can never know everything about cats because experiences, new discoveries, and different emotions can cause you to â€Å"know† something new about them. It shows that depending on the experiences we have and how we perceive information can affect what we think we know about cats. What I know about cats maybe be different from someone else. This is not necessarily because I know more or less than someone else does but I might have a different perception of the cats than someone else does. Sometimes people have a bad experience once and then use that experience to block out any other knowledge. No matter how irrational that may be, people can convince themselves that because they had a bad experience, it means all cats are bad. When this happens, people can forget to look at all the ways of knowing something. They could stop believing in their religion or deny scientifically proven facts. In this regard we choose what our knowledge is, even if there is more information that could be considered. It also works in the opposite direction. People could choose to be completely scientific about cats and block out any knowledge having to do with emotion or experiences having to do with cats. Either of these ways of thinking changes what people think they know but it also shows how by talking to someone about cats does not necessarily give you facts about cats. It only gives you the perception of cats from the other person. Unfortunately, most information about cats comes from either something people have written or from inside someone’s head. Therefor it is up to us to decide what we believe to be knowledge and what to be opinion.
